NCCP Training & Certification

The training of coaches for artistic swimming is through the National Coach Certification Program in partnership with Manitoba Artistic Swimming and Canada Artistic Swimming. Training and evaluation of coaches is provided for the recreational stream and the competitive stream.

  • AquaGo! is for instructors working in a recreational program. The course and evaluations are delivered through the province.
  • Competition Introduction is the entry point for most competitive coaches and supports the coach in the Learn to Train and Train to Train stages. These programs are largely in the Provincial Stream. This course and the evaluations are delivered through the province.
  • Competition Development is for competitive coaches coaching in the Train to Train and Train to Compete stages. These programs are largely in the National Stream. This course and the evaluations are delivered through CAS.

The CAS Coaching Certification Pathway will provide you with further details for each level.

Coach training & certification in Manitoba

To coach Artistic Swimming in Manitoba, coaches must be minimally trained in the context in which you intend to coach. This means you will have to take a course and do the Make Ethical Decisions on-line evaluation. If you will be coaching in the competitive stream you will have to be a trained Competition Introduction Coach and you will have two competitive seasons from the first day of taking the Competition Introduction course to complete certification. See the CAS Coach Registration and Certification Policy.

To become certified coaches will need to be evaluated on outcomes for their applicable level. Candidates must register with Manitoba Artistic Swimming. Once you have registered and paid, Manitoba Artistic Swimming will coordinate evaluators for you. There is a fee per evaluation which is paid directly to the evaluator. Please see the MAS NCCP Coach Evaluation document for information on completing outcomes.

Courses are offered through NCCP partners in each province, you can check the Coaching Association of Canada (CAC) website for dates and locations in your province.
